So, the new time create new plots and rules, this applies to all spheres of human life. In particular, education reform introduces innovations in the educational process. However, it solves only a small part of the issues of concern to school members.

In the last three years of our activity, we have noticed an important trend – educational institutions are increasingly thinking about their future and development. They are looking for ways to be more modern, competitive, providing quality education. Motivation is different for everyone – for someone it is a requirement of time or the Ministry of Education and Science, for someone the need for an index, for someone the desire to surpass other schools in development and modern ideas. But whatever the reason, the result is much more important.

One of the most effective ways to improve the educational institution is a planned strategy! It is the strategy that is one of the necessary tools that can help educational institutions at different levels, achieve their goals and effectively plan their work.

“The wise is not the one who knows a lot, but the one who knows what he needs,” writes Paulo Coelho, and it’s hard to disagree with this quote. After all, the strategy of developing a school, lyceum or educational institution of another form helps the administration to focus on important things, choose what is necessary for the future, and follow modern trends.

What does the development strategy really offer? Despite all the instructions from the Ministry of Education and Science, instructions from district or city education departments, general advice from managers of different schools or educational experts, each school is individual and only its employees, students and managers know the valid aspects, problems of their educational institution. Therefore, the development strategy helps to focus on the advantages and disadvantages of a particular school. And it’s also a great way to set goals in the short and long term and achieve them through properly planned and set tasks.

Of course, at the priority stages of creating such a strategy, school managers need professional assistance. Those who explain different details, tell about the necessary elements of planning, help in detecting weaknesses and answer all questions.

We build our methodology for creating strategies in the practice we have gained when cooperating and attending educational institutions in the United States and Europe. “Strategy is a synthesis of the work of school principals, teachers, parents and children, and we, as experts and moderators, help to direct opinions and ideas, because it is the participants in the educational process of a particular school or lyceum know better about their environment. The result of the creation is always different, and this is great, because it shows how different the educational environments are,” said Taras Repytskyi, founder of the NGO “Society Initiatives Institute” and author of the methodology “Strategy of the Educational Institution”.
