The purpose of the program is to increase the level of competence of young people interested in the career of politician, civil servant or public sector through practical tasks, visits, interesting and expert lectures on the theory of state creation, local self-government and other tangent concepts and visions. The “Young Policy Laboratory” program is implemented through the “Young Policy Laboratory” Project and the Annual Young Policy Forum.

This program has started a new and unique movement of political education in Lviv.

“Young Policy Laboratory” project

STAGE 1

  1. Introduction. Opening. Familiarity. Entire programs. “Project backpack”.
  2. Government. Theory of state creation. The division of the branches of the Board.
  3. Local self-government.
  4. Visit to the city council (session) + training in the small session hall
  5. Social problems. Mapping problems. Start of preparations for modelling of the session.

STAGE 2

  1. Familiarisation visit to the Party_1. Lecture from an expert/experts
  2. Familiarisation visit to the Party_2. Lecture from an expert/experts
  3. Media training.
  4. Familiarisation visit to the Party_3. Lecture from an expert/experts
  5. Familiarisation visit to the Party_4. Lecture from an expert/experts
  6. Training on working with a favourite society. The practical task is interviewing, social issues.
  7. Familiarisation visit to the Party_5. Lecture from an expert/experts
  8. Familiarisation visit to the Party_6. Lecture from an expert/experts
  9. Session modelling. Decision/approval/recommendations. Interim project outcome.

STAGE 3

Distribution for internship (1-2 months). Completion of the program, presentation of certificates. The result of the project. Analysis of project results and reporting to partners and sponsors.

Conditions of the “Young Politician’s Laboratory Program”. Successful completion – 80% visit and active participation (fulfilment of practical tasks among classes). Practical tasks include analysing regulations, laws, writing essays, conducting social surveys and interviews. Terms of cooperation of bilateral Memorandum of Cooperation on the project is signed between a political party or partners.

A political party or public organisation may join:

  • Financing; (the amount is negotiated according to the Memorandum)
  • Printing marketing and branded project materials; (the amount is negotiated according to the Memorandum)
  • Assistance with other contractors necessary to realise the project;
  • Providing a platform for internships for project participants;
  • Expert lectures within the framework of the practical part;
  • Other, by certain means;

At the end of the project, the Society Initiatives Institute undertakes to provide the partner organisation with a detailed report on the project implementation, as stated in the Memorandum.
